
Coppell
Just a few years ago most folks had never heard of Coppell. In 1980 it was just a quiet little town of 3,826. Today it is a “bedroom community” of 39,500. But, no matter how many people decide to live here, Coppell's sense of identity is unchanged and it remains the quiet town it has always been at heart. Most people who live in Coppell work elsewhere.
The many parks, nearby lakes, quiet tree-lined streets and friendly attitude among the residents are just a few of the reasons for Coppell's recent and ever-continuing development. Residents here find these North Texas woods with luxury homes, manicured yards, and rows of shade trees in sway a good place to raise a family.
Schools: Students living in Coppell attend school in Coppell Independent School District, Carrollton/Farmers Branch Independent School District or Lewisville School District. One-third of the city was set aside for residential development and, another third was set aside for commercial use which is experiencing a flood of corporate relocations, because of its close proximity to the airport. The final third that may make Coppell one of the eminently livable cities in the coming century, having been set aside for parks, jogging trails, playgrounds and the Riverchase golf course.
Coppell is bordered by and offers easy access to I-635, I-35 and Highway 121. To the southeast is Las Colinas and one of the fastest suburban commuter routes to downtown Dallas. To the south is Valley Ranch with the Dallas Cowboys' and Dallas Stars' training facilities.
Southlake
Southlake is a city in northeastern Tarrant and southern Denton Counties consisting of approx. 22.5 square miles. It is a suburb of Fort Worth and is located near the cities of Grapevine, Colleyville, and Keller. Southlake Texas is truly the heart of the DFW Metroplex, just minutes away from the DFW International Airport, and equal distance to both Dallas Love Field Airport and Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Southlake's central location provides easy access to amenities throughout the entire DFW region. Southlake encompasses a wonderful quality of life destination through the recreational opportunities with 17 parks and over 675 total park acres and trails through the City. Sabre Holdings, an S&P 500 company and owner of Travelocity, is headquartered in Southlake In December of 2008, Forbes.com named Southlake the most affluent neighborhood in the United States based on average median household income estimates. Southlake is well known for its Southlake Town Square project, a shopping center located on State Highway 114 and Southlake Boulevard. Southlake is well known for the Southlake Carroll Dragons. Demographics: The population was 21,519 at the 2000 census. The ethnic makeup of the city was 94.54% White, 1.39% African American, 0.25% Native American, 1.79% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.81% from other ethnic groups, and 1.20% from other ethnic groups. Carrollton
Northwest of Dallas, Carrollton has been enjoying a recent surge in growth, as those who want to live in an older, established community have discovered the diverse neighborhoods. The wide variety of housing, community partnerships and activities enhance residents' lifestyles, and make Carrollton an excellent option. The city's has had a recent explosion of retail centers. Carrollton is approx. 37 square miles.
Carrollton's prime location which is surrounded by major highways, airports, three rail freight carriers, and it is designated as a Foreign Trade Zone makes it an excellent choice for businesses.
This city is among the Texas' most rapidly growing cities, with over 120,000 residents, but home prices here are comparatively more reasonable here than in other area communities north of Dallas, such as Plano.
In 2008, Carrollton ranked #15 in MONEY Magazine’s Best Places to Live. Forbes Magazine recently ranked Carrollton #12 for “America’s 25 Best Places to Move”. Carrollton has also been recognized nationally as a "Kid Friendly City," and "Tree City USA."
Three independent school districts serve Carrollton, with the majority of students attending school in Carrollton/ Farmers Branch Independent School District. School-age children also attend Dallas Independent School District and the Lewisville Independent School District.
Carrollton is home to award-winning sports complexes, schools, libraries, hike-and-bike trails and many other leisure activities including Indian Creek Golf Club with two unique 18-hole golf courses. The 40-acre Elm Fork Nature Preserve is also located here, with its beautiful, scenic forestland. A visit to Old Downtown Carrollton is a trip back in time: quaint little retail shops and excellent restaurants surround the downtown square. Families will enjoy a visit to Sandy Lake Amusement Park.
